It exists since 10th July, 1913 when hotel "Odak" was opened. Later on, namely in 1965 it was rebuilt and renamed to "Excelsior". It was completely renovated (5 stars) in 1998.

Location: It is situated very close to the "Old City" (5 minutes on foot), with beautiful view of the Old City and the island of Lokrum from its terraces and from the most of the balconies.

Accommodation: There are 172 rooms with telephone, TV set and mini-bar. There is a hairdryer in the batheroom. Part of the rooms have the possibility of fitting the current appliances needed for congress tourism such as E-mail, telefax...

Facilities: Beside the great restaurant the hotel has few small "a la carte" restaurants offering vegeterian food as well. Tavern "Rustica", offering Dalmatian specialities and music, has a breathtaking view on the Old City. The hotel is equipped with central heating and air-conditioners. There are also inside swimming pool, sauna and massage, beauty shop, fitness, whirl pool and its private beach (pier mall) with a restaurant. There is a big sand beach in a close vicinity to the hotel as well. Dogs are allowed. The hotel has a congress hall for 500 persons and few smaller modernly fitted halls for conferences. In the hotel there are souvenir shop (providing daily newspapers), gallery, rent-a-car service, shopping centre , diving possibilities etc.

Sports: In the hotel there are a squash-room and trim cabinet.

Seit dem 10. Juni 1913 existiert es, zuerst unter den Namen Hotel Odak. Im Jahre 1965 wurde es neugebaut und umgenannt in Excelsior. Es ist komplett renoviert (5 Sterne).

Lage: Es befindet sich in der Nähe der Altstadt (5 Minuten zu Fuss) mit herlichem Ausblick von seinen Terrassen und Balkonen auf die Altstadt und die Insel Lokrum.

Unterbringing: Es hat 172 Zimmer mit Telefon, TV und Minibar. Im Bad ist ein Fön vorhanden. Ein Teil der Zimmer ist mit modernen Hilfsmitteln für Kongresstuorismus wie E-Post, Telefax usw. ausgerüstet.

Möglichkeiten: Ausser dem grossen Restaurant hat das Hotel ein paar kleine "a la carte" Restaurants (vegetarische Küche ist vorhanden). Die Taverne Rustica, die dalmatinische Spezialitäten und Musik bietet, hat bezaubernden Ausblick auf die Altstadt. Das Hotel ist mit Heizung und Klimaanlage ausgestattet. Ein Hallenbad, Sauna und Massage, ein Beauty Shop, ein Fitness-Raum, ein Springbrunnen und ein eigener Strand (eine Schiffanlege ist vorhanden) mit einem Restaurant stehen Ihnen zur Verfügung. Ein grosser Sandstrand befindet sich auch in der Nähe des Hotels. Das Hotel besitzt eine Kongresshalle für 500 Personen und ein paar kleinere modern ausgerüsteten Konferenzräume. Im Hotel sind auch ein Souivenirgeschäft, eine Galerie, ein Rent-a-car Service, ein Shopping Center. Tauch-Möglichkeiten sind vorhanden.

Sport: Im Hotel gibt es ein Squash-Raum und ein Trimm-Cabinet.
